Unsurprisingly Dunham’s take on the traditional nude brings out its delicious vulgarity. The centered vagina is visually all-consuming, consciously playing up to our feelings of desire and repugnance. Its thick black outlines and bold colors give it a crude simplicity, contrasting with the psychological sophistication of the work.
