About the artwork
In flowing lines Adnan’s etching Quelque part…, captures, in aching simplicity, the contours of a mountain range. Its succinctness is both tender and felicitous, and refers to her beloved Mount Tamalpais in California, her home after having been forced to flee Lebanon. Firmly believing in the importance of Nature as an element of thinking, Adnan strives to locate the spirit of place in her work, that “clarity of high” as it “passes through the mountains.”
