About the artwork
On September 5, 2009 a giant pink rabbit appeared in the Alps. Stretched out along the slope of the mountain at a height of 1600 meters was—and still is—a 60 meter long, 6 meter high pink knitted bunny so big it can be seen from outer space. After 5 years of knitting, the rabbit suddenly appeared near the Italian village of Cuneo. The giant bunny is to remain wedged in the mountain for the next 20 years. Hase, 2006 is a miniature hand-knit stuffed animal version of Gelitin's public enormous public installation work.
