About the artwork
In Zen Buddhism the Koan is a puzzling story often used to invite meditative moods and bring about spiritual awakenings. American artist Liliane Lijn has been transforming them into a sculptural form since the 1960s. Her Liquid Koan (Cone!) is made of translucent resin, allowing the colors to neither merge nor completely separate from one another.
