About the artwork
Thomas Zipp's 2010 portfolio of 7 etchings, White Reformation, draws on the absurdist tendencies of Dada and often whimsical nature of scientific discourses in its delicate illustrations with etching, lithographic, and aquatint elements. While the sketch-like works may appear light in nature, their palette tends toward that of more gray, umber, and army green tonalities shedding light on the hidden elements of dark humor and the weirdness of their thematic material.
