This delightfully small and unique work is made from a lacquer mixing technique on a magnetic steel plate. These Polaroid Paintings should be viewed as psychedelic, abstract images of distortion, challenging the very notion of an instant photograph and its ability to document the everyday. Like momentoes from the past, this once redundant photographic source is making a comeback, and in this painted surface on a failed exposure, the work gains a fresh aesthetic value through that act of failure.
