About the artwork

Using simple materials and bright colors, Kapoor creates elegant sculptures that explore the human form and notions of the void. Reverse Peverse, a direct nod to Wyn Evans' 1996 installation Inverse Reverse Perverse, consists of a red acrylic glass vulval sculpture attached to a bright pink painted wooden door panel. The work was originally created as part of a specially commissioned group show inspired by Willem de Kooning's Door Cycle paintings of the 60s. For the Door Cycle, 2007 19 celebrity artists were invited to create an original work, using prefabricated hollow-core doors.
