Etheleen Staley and Takouhy Wise opened Staley-Wise Gallery in 1981 with the intention of bringing fashion photography into the world of fine art photography. In the following years the gallery has exhibited the masters of fashion photography from de Meyer to Steichen, Hoyningen-Huene, Horst, Louise Dahl-Wolfe to Avedon, Penn, Bert Stern, Helmut Newton, Deborah Turbeville, Herb Ritts, Patrick Demarchelier, among many others. In addition to fashion, the gallery exhibits an extensive collection of portraiture, landscape, still-life, and nudes, all with an emphasis on style. Staley-Wise Gallery works with museums, private institutions, and collectors worldwide.
