Founded in 1981 in Paris, Galerie Lelong has always fostered the talent of artists that went on to become household names, exhibiting Louise Bourgeois, Francis Bacon, and Antoni Tàpies, as well as Donald Judd, Richard Serra, and Robert Ryman throughout the 80s and the likes of Sean Scully, Günther Förg, and Antonio Saura in the 90s. The gallery expanded its program with the turn of the century, from sculptures and objects by Kiki Smith and Rebecca Horn through to paintings by Hockney and Motherwell. Galerie Lelong also has a publishing department where artists are invited to produce limited edition prints and multiples. The gallery is present at the most important art fairs in the world, notably Art Basel, Art Basel Hong Kong, and ARCO Madrid.
