Founded in 1984 Parkett has long been considered one of the world's best art publications and its commissioned editions—made with the most important artists of the day—cover every conceivable medium from paintings, photographs, drawings, prints, sculptures, videos, and even sound pieces. Co-founded and co-edited by Bice Curiger, editor-in-chief, Dieter von Graffenried, the publisher, and Jacqueline Burckhardt, each editor has contributed over 30 years of their expertise to Parkett. Always serious yet deeply stylish, Hans-Ulrich Obrist has described Parkett as being a "catalyst for invigorating change whilst always producing the harvest of the quiet eye." Every artist is involved in the selection of authors and the design and, of course, in the signed and numbered limited edition that comes with every publication. These extraordinary works can be prints, objects, or even installations. Parkett's list of collaborating artists includes the likes of Jeff Koons, Ai Weiwei, Maurizio Cattelan, and Andy Warhol. Every limited edition always come with the prospective artist publication including three to four texts about the artist and information on their forthcoming exhibitions.
