About the artwork
Artist Rirkrit Tiravanija sees art as a method for experimenting and playing out new ways of living. In 1998 he initiated the Land Foundation as an opportunity in living a modest life in total harmony with nature. The Land itself, located in Thailand, seeks to spread and promote an open exchange of ideas on art, economics and community. Out of that idea came HOPE HAS NO RIGHT ANGLES, a work alluding to the principles behind the project: the inability of logic to influence human emotion whilst reminding us that there’s always a chance to radically rethink the way we live.
