About the artwork
In 1996, as part of a commissioned project titled Wall Works, 1992-2009, Sylvie Fleury was invited, along with numerous other artists, to create a conceptual design for an artwork to be executed professionally by skilled craftsmen and installed to measure upon purchase. A signed and numbered certificate lays out the parameters of the individual wall works, specifying all artistic and technical details. With Eternity, as in most of her wall painting, Fleury abstains from using figurative images, restricting herself instead to the use of typography, text, and fashionable color combinations.
