About carlier | gebauer
Promoting international contemporary art, carlier | gebauer provides its artists with the space to experiment. Founded in 1991 by Ulrich Gebauer and co-directed with Marie-Blanche Carlier since 1997, the gallery’s program is deeply engaged with aesthetic and conceptual research. Working with artists such as Thomas Schütte, Julie Mehretu and Mark Wallinger, the gallery’s considerable exhibition space allows for large-scale installations to be conceived. Time and time again the gallery has provided a key platform for the growth of an artist with the production of a crucial exhibition in their career.
