Christo Vladimirov Javacheff (born 1935 in Gabrovo, Bulgaria) is most well-known for his collaborations with his wife, Jeanne-Claude (born 1935 in Casablanca, Morocco; died 2009 in New York, USA) under the moniker Christo & Jeanne-Claude. About the artwork

Completed in AD 134 by Roman Emperor Hadrian, the Ponte Sant’Angelo is the oldest bridge in Rome and the first bridge that Christo and Jeanne-Claude identified as having wrapping potential. Despite never seeing the light of day, it would have made a truly beautiful addition to the Christo and Jeanne-Claude oeuvre.
