Beginning on May 18th Tate Liverpool is displaying more than 30 paintings by the modern master, Francis Bacon alongside a group of previously unseen drawings and documents. The exhibition entitled Francis Bacon: Invisible Rooms brings together many of the artist’s most iconic and powerful paintings with a special focus on the recurring motif of the cage or frame like structure which often surrounds the subjects of his work.

The exhibition is organized by Tate Liverpool and Staatsgalerie Stuttgart. Francis Bacon: Invisible Rooms will also tour to Staatsgalerie Stuttgart (7 October 2016 – 8 January 2017).
