We are delighted to welcome Ivorypress—one of the most significant producers of livre d'artistes in the world—to our family of gallery producers. We will be working hand-in-hand with Ivorypress to bring you the finest selection of editions and multiples available online.
Founded in 1996 in London, Ivorypress is now one of Europe's leading producers of livres d'artiste. What sets Ivorypress apart are their extraordinary finely crafted artist books—valuable works of art in themselves. Designed by the artist and published in a numbered and limited edition, this outstanding publisher harnesses the best modern techniques available as well as making use of historic printing processes.
Ivorypress is involved in a wide variety of areas focused around contemporary art, running its own gallery, art consultancy, curatorship, audio-visual productions, and education programs. Under the leadership of Professor Dr. Elena Ochoa (Lady Elena Foster of Thames Bank), Ivorypress has expanded into Switzerland and Spain and established itself as a curatorial powerhouse, participating in the design and production of international exhibition projects such as the 10th Venice Biennale of Architecture in 2006, the Victoria and Albert Museum in 2008, and the 54th Venice Art Biennale in 2011.
Ivorypress prides itself on the education and support it provides to emerging talents and its continued promotion of contemporary art in further education. It has produced artist books with many of the most high-profile artists working today including Ai Weiwei, Zaha Hadid, Ilya and Emilia Kabakov, and many others. The gallery finances and promotes their works in public and private collections and provides assistance and advice on their exhibitions and site-specific installations. All in all, Ivorypress can truly be said to be a contemporary art institution, highly influential and culturally significant worldwide.
