To coincide with the 9th Berlin Biennale, Julia Stoschek will open a temporary space in Berlin’s Mitte at the former Czech Cultural Center. Opening on June 2nd, the exhibition is entitled “Welt Am Draht” (World on a Wire), her collection matches superbly the framework of DIS, the New York collective curating the Biennale.

Julia Stoschek has always been interested in performance, video and new media.  Her collection is based in Düsseldorf and includes post-internet artists like Amalia Ulman, and legendary performance artist Marina Abramović as well as the artist Hito Steyerl and Cyprien Gaillard. Speaking to Artnet the collector said: “the moving image reflects the ephemeral, which is a defining feature of our time. This is one of the reasons why the main focus is on time-based media art and also on performance.”

The 9th Berlin Biennale will run from the 2nd of June to the 18th of September 2016.
